At some point in our walk of faith we will come to a wall. Walls can take many forms, but if we can lean into the Holy Spirit and learn to get through the wall (a.k.a. "dark night of the soul") often our faith is fuller, stronger, and more mature.
Have you ever felt like you've come against a wall in your faith? What did that look like? Do you feel like you're in a "dark night" now? Know that God does not leave you nor forsake you. There are many examples in Scripture of people getting through dark nights (which often last far longer than a night). May God give you strength if you find yourself in a difficult time.

Our pasts impact our present and we need to acknowledge that. In this episode we chat about how our family history can affect our ways of dealing with life. We look into the life of Joseph through Scripture and how he was able to break some of the cycles found within his family as he endeavored to follow GOD.

In this episode we converse with our friend and fellow officer, Jennifer. T-shirts may have to be made with the slogan "Get Crooked" which is only to be understood in the context of our discussion on Psalm 23.

In addition, we talk about the often overlooked gifting of administration in the context of ministry.

In today's episode we speak with Amanda's husband Brian about his favorite parts of ministry. There's a lot to chew on in this one, so you may need to listen more than once.
We often find God working in places we wouldn't expect and He calls us into divine appointments which can mess up our plan, but those are the best moments in ministry. Let God interrupt your day with His plan.

Today we welcomed friends Andy and Corey to the podcast. We talk about the importance of studying the whole of Scripture not just the Old Testament. Also leading by example and finding time to refill one's own cup. It's always encouraging to spend time with friends who are passionate about God's mission.

Another lengthy episode as we continue to dive into emotional healthy spirituality. In this one we chat about knowing oneself and distinguishing between the false self and the true self. If we're honest with ourselves who are we really?
In addition, we talk about three temptations that push towards a false sense of self:
1. We are what we do.2. We are what we possess.3. We are what other people think of us.
As a reminder, we are discussing material from Peter Scazzero's book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.
What are your thoughts thus far?

This one is super long, but we decided to leave it as one episode. We're starting a new conversation on emotional healthy spirituality. Do you want to have maturity in Christ, but feel like accumulating knowledge and memorizing Scripture just isn't doing it?
This episode talks about the problem of emotionally unhealthy spirituality and how that can hinder our maturity in Christ. We discuss the symptoms of unhealthy emotional spirituality and then take a look at the life of King Saul in the Old Testament and how his lack of emotional health contributed to his downfall.
We are getting much of our information from Peter Scazzero's book: Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.

Misfit Messengers
Throughout Scripture we see God use all sorts of different people for His purposes, even the misfits, especially the misfits. That's us. We're just ordinary people that God has called to share His Gospel message with those we meet. We're misfits, but misfits with a message of hope, of love; a message that is changing the world. We invite you to our conversation about that message and the one who sent it to us to share.
